Dextrose occurs as white, crystalline granules or as a granular powder. It is purified and crystallized D-glucose. It contains one molecule of water of crystallisation. Contains one molecule of water of crystallisation. It is freely soluble in water, very soluble in boiling water, and slightly soluble in alcohol.
Dextrose, also known as corn sugar or glucose, is commonly used in home brewing for various purposes. Dextrose is used commercially as a sweetener it is approximately half as sweet as ordinary table sugar and is used in brewing and wine making. It can also be administered intravenously as medicine if a person cannot drink fluids. Dextrose can be used singly or supplemented with your favourite pre/intra/post workout shake for an added boost. To use as a weight gain product simply add a scoop to your post workout protein shake with some EFAs.
